Palo Santo is a bark extract from the Triplaris peruviana tree, also known as the Ant Tree due to its mutualistic association with ants. In Ecuador and Peru, Triplaris is known as Tangarana. Palo Santo translates to ‘Holy Wood’ and refers to use of the aromatic wood for traditional healing and in spiritual ceremonies in indigenous Latin American cultures for centuries.
