Description
Iodine is a trace element which is important for a number of processes in the body. The body needs iodine, however cannot make it on its own. There is a small amount of the mineral found in food; unless it has been added during processing. Most of the world's iodine is found in the ocean, where it is concentrated by sea life, especially seaweed.
