Sea vegetables have long been treasured in Japan as a delicious, versatile and above all nutritious food. Wakame, with its tender dark green fronds, has a pleasing mild flavour and is versatile and easy to use in soups, salads and vegetable dishes. Hand harvested in the clear mineral rich waters off the coast of Japan then it is washed then hung on ropes and left to slowly dry in the sun. Unlike most commercial wakame, Clearspring Wakame is not treated with softening agents such as enzymes or monosodium glutamate (MSG).
