Yacon syrup has a malty taste and is a versatile ingredient to use in sweet recipes in place of sugar or simply drizzled across dessert or to sweeten tea. Yacon contains fructooligosaccharides (FOS). FOS type of sugars have a delicious sweet taste, but pass through the body undigested. Yacon only contains about half the calories of an average sugar source. Yacon also has a prebiotic effect, which promotes colon and digestive health.
